Nintendo Switch Online is the new premium service required to play online multiplayer games on the hybrid console. However, it comes with a few new features like a connected mobile app with voice chat, cloud saving, and a few NES games that users are free to download. We're talking about enhanced versions of classic games with new features such as online multiplayer, and among the new features, there's an option to activate low-latency mode.
Nintendo explains what that it means and how to enable or disable it. The low-latency mode reduces input delay when playing games online, but it may affect the audio-visual experience. On the plus side, it means that the characters react more quickly to buttons input, which is always helpful when playing online.
To activate or deactivate low-latency mode on NES games for Nintendo Switch, you have to follow these steps:
Start an online game from the NES - Nintendo Switch Online library.
Open the Suspend Menu by pressing ZL + ZR*, then select "To Game Selection."
From the menu on the left select, "Settings," then press the Y Button to turn on low-latency mode.
This option is visible only after starting a game online.
This setting will not be saved and will be turned off once you close your online game.
To manually turn off this setting, press the Y Button again.
