Late last week Bungie registered a trademark for Matter, filing it with the European Union Intellectual Property Office in categories 9 and 41 ("computer game software" and "online entertainment services", in case you were interested). What "Matter" actually represents remains shrouded in mystery, but it certainly looks like it might be the name of a new project, especially seeing as how the filing comes complete with a logo.
Could Matter be the project Bungie is working on with new partner NetEase, or is it something entirely different? We'll let you know if and when we know more.
