Earlier in the summer Valve announced that the company would be loosening restrictions with regards to the types of the games allowed on its digital platform, Steam, while at the same time clamping down on titles that were otherwise trolling players or included illegal content.
Then, in early September, the company further clarified its position via this blog, explaining how they identify "game-shaped objects" and why the people who make them inevitably get banned. Now we're starting to see crystal clear evidence of the company's new-found stance, with nearly 200 games removed from the platform in the last month alone.
Steam Tools has an extensive list of games that have been removed from sale, and as you can see from the rogue's gallery linked, some real classics have been given the boot. Based on the quality of the titles alone, here's our list of highlights:
Brodefence
Make Border Great Again!
Stickman - Killer of Apples
Combat Racoon
Tiny Toast
Big Dick
Camping With Girls
PUTIN, BOOBS and TRUMP
Throw in a wealth of hentai-themed games and a bunch of Achievement Hunter titles and you've got a rather large selection of games that Valve considers either straight-up trolling or game-shaped objects.
