Sony has finally caved on crossplay, with the company previously stopping PS4 players from competing directly with Xbox One and Switch owners. Yesterday, however, the PS4 version of Fortnite got updated with the much-requested crossplay support, and now players on all platforms can battle each other and, perhaps more importantly, they can use the same account in every single version of Epic's hyper-popular shooter, which is ideal if you're rocking a Switch as a second console, for example.
But if you had your hopes up for the very same thing regarding Bethesda's upcoming RPG, Fallout 76, then we have some disappointing news for you. There are no crossplay plans for the game, as confirmed by company frontman Pete Hines in a tweet following Sony's crossplay message. He adds that there are no crossplay plans at the moment, and he doesn't know if it will ever be possible in Fallout 76.
"Fallout 76 does not support crossplay, for a number of reasons. I have no idea if it ever will. But I assure you it is not on our radar right now as we focus on beta and Launch."
