A few weeks before the official launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 (you should read our massive preview), Rockstar is publishing a series of interesting screenshots that allow us to perfectly enter the mood of their next western adventure. After showing us the beautiful landscapes that we will cross riding our steed, it's today the turn of the various wildlife that we will meet during our long walks.
They range from bears to coyotes, through sturgeon and much more, all of which can in some way attack our lives during the journey. Thanks to the different habitats and climates present in the game, there will be about 200 species of animals, birds and different fishes, each of which behaves and reacts to the surrounding environment in a unique way. As stated by Rockstar: "...deer, bison and pronghorn traverse the plains in large herds, scavengers quickly sniff out carrion, sockeye salmon leap upstream, wolves attack in packs surrounding their prey, geese fly in fixed formations, possums play dead, rodents scamper into tree hollows, grizzly bears bluff charge when threatened, and birds of prey soar on thermals. They all form part of a complex ecosystem and must continually fight for their place on the food chain."
Although in many cases they only represent obstacles or simple scenic features, it seems that the role played by the fauna in Red Dead Redemption 2 will have great importance in making our adventure even more profound. It certainly looks promising. You can watch the gallery of images provided by Rockstar below and we remind you that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available from October 26 on PS4 and Xbox One.
