A new report from MCV (using NPD data from their 2018 Gamer Segmentation Report) has revealed that over 59% of gamers in the US play on more than one platform, usually combining a mobile device with a console or PC.
The survey - which polled 5,000 active gamers - predicts that around 34% are only playing mobile games, while 90% are using mobiles in some capacity, whether that be alone or alongside something else. PCs are the second most popular platform, with 52%, while consoles attract 43% of players. Handheld systems, however, only contribute 9%.
The sample group for the survey also spent 12 hours a week on average playing games (16% of their week) which is just a little less than internet browsing and a touch more than listening to music.
