New Game + modes typically give dedicated players a reason to dive back into a game for a second (sometimes third or fourth) run with powers and abilities intact from the initial pass but also with more challenging obstacles to overcome.
Since it launched last week it has emerged that Spider-Man is the fastest-selling game of the year so far, which means that a huge number of players will have already swung their way through NYC and will be looking for a new, revitalised challenge. Those hoping for a New Game + at launch might be a touch disappointed as there wasn't one, but Insomniac has confirmed that it is working on a patch that includes an NG+ mode.
We know this because when one inquisitive soul asked the studio directly on Twitter, the official account responding by writing: "yes working on it now and polishing it up!"
There's no word on when it'll land, but given the fact the patch is at the polishing stage, it shouldn't be too much longer before players are given a new challenge to savour.
