We have previously reported about Disney's plans to launch their own streaming service. Since the company has a ton of its own material as well as the Marvel and Star Wars universes - it really shouldn't be too hard for them to find an audience. Now Variety is reporting that the Netflix challenger will launch sometime in late 2019 and that it will be called Disney Play.
All Disney-owned movies (Variety lists Dumbo, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Frozen 2, Avengers 4, and Star Wars: Episode IX as examples) will head to Disney Play instead of services like Netflix and there will also be original content like TV shows based on Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney brands.
Could you see yourself getting a subscription to Disney Play next year?
