Microsoft announced five new studio acquisitions at this year's E3, and this will hopefully increase the volume of big first party exclusives, something many fans have pointed out is missing within the Xbox One ecosystem. However, it would seem that Microsoft is actually still looking to buy more studios, but they must fill a specific set of criteria.
In an interview with GamesIndustry Microsoft Studios boss Matt Booty says that they're interested in expanding still, but the studio in question must be between 50 and 100 employees, and they have to produce games on a 2-3 year cycle.
"I don't want to seem like we're going out to fill a quota. It's not about filling a spreadsheet by any means. We will, however, have an interest in studios right now that fit this criteria of 50 to 100 people, who are making games on a two to three year cadence, and have content that we think will be of interest to our Game Pass subscribers. That means content that is a little different to what our big AAA franchises can deliver."
The question then is - what studio do you think fits the bill?
