NPD Group Analyst Mat Piscatella noted over on ResetEra, that in June 2018 it was Nintendo's diminutive retro console, the NES Classic Mini, that sold more hardware units than any other platform.
"The NES Classic was June 2018's highest unit selling hardware platform, while the PlayStation 4 led the market in dollar sales. This is the first time a Nintendo Entertainment System console has led in monthly unit sales since NPD tracking began in 1995," the analyst wrote, adding that "all current generation platforms delivered sales growth."
The power of NES can still be felt in 2018, it would seem. Do you have an NES Classic Mini? Tell us in the comments.
