Here at Gamereactor we liked Rogue One. It was a movie that almost flawlessly captured the atmosphere from the original trilogy and proved that spinoffs in the Star Wars universe can be a good thing. One of the best things about the movie was old man Darth Vader, who power-walked into several scenes and completely stole the show. But Gary Whitta, writer for Rogue One, actually had a different vision for how this supervillain amongst supervillains should be used:
"The version I pitched (but never wrote) had Vader on the Scarif beach single-handedly slaughtering his way through a Rebel blockade at the base of the Imperial tower. The version in the Raddus hallway works much better because it's so contained, feels more horror than action."
