With games that are a long way off, like Death Stranding, we often see 'coming soon' on store pages as opposed to specific release dates, but now a new report (originally coming from Heise) reveals that this practice has been banned for pre-orders in Germany, and stores must instead show the latest time the product can be delivered or remove pre-orders entirely.
German courts recently issued the ruling, and the Higher Regional Court of Munich explained that customers should be aware of when they can expect a product, applying to all everything and not just games. That means no pre-ordering of games like Cyberpunk 2077 until we have a more solid idea of when they're coming out.
Is this a good idea in your eyes?
