Bioware's James Ohlen has announced on Twitter that he is retiring from the studio after 22 years of work. Ohlen states he needed a "break from the industry and work on something a little smaller and more personal".

During his time at Bioware Ohlen worked as a creative director and lead designer on Star Wars: The Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic, and also worked on games such as Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. Ohlen also played a big part in the development of the Dragon Age series and the studio's upcoming game Anthem.

Ohlen will continue to work on his fifth D&D rulebook at his own publishing company, Arcanum Worlds.
