Bitmap Books has delivered several really well-made coffee table books about video games and consoles over the years, and now the company is about to launch yet another, this time with the help of some Kickstarter funding. This latest book is dedicated to the classic Master System, Sega's 8-bit console which was launched 1987 in Europe and was a worthy competitor to the NES.
Sega Master System: A Visual Compendium includes all of the history, all of the games, the peripherals, relevant interviews (not to mention a foreword written by Mark Cerny, the system architect of PlayStation 4 who worked for Sega of Japan back in the day) and lots of lovely pictures. There's also a set of 3D glasses (of the old red/blue variety) included as part of the package.
As you might have suspected, it didn't take long for this beauty to get all of the required funding and now it's only a matter of how many stretch goals it will hit. If you want to get the book, be mentioned in the credits, or maybe bag yourself a retro style t-shirt, head this way and make a pledge.
