The Australian Classifications Board has thrown out Warner Bros. Interactive's appeal to re-classify upcoming fighter Mortal Kombat. As before, the game still sits under "Refused Classification" - which means that the game will be illegal to retail in Australia.

"We're obviously extremely disappointed that the refused classification decision has been upheld by the Classification Review Board. We want to thank the thousands of Mortal Kombat fans in Australia and around the world who have voiced their support during the appeal process," Warner Bros. said in a statement.

It's probably not the last we see of this either, as Warner Bros are bound to try to get the classification changed.
