With PlayStation 4 Pro and XBox One X, consoles became a whole lot more powerful, but there is still plenty of room for them to improve. This was acknowledged by Xbox boss Phil Spencer, who visited Giant Bomb's livestream and said:
"We're pretty open about some of the stuff... If you watch what we're doing now with the Xbox One consoles right now, we've introduced variable refresh rate, we've added high frame rate capability. I think frame rate is an area where consoles can do more, just in general.
"When you look at the balance between CPU and GPU in today's consoles, it's a little bit out of whack relative to what's on the PC side."
Spencer revealed during the company's E3 press conference that they're working on a new Xbox console right now, and his comments this week might well be a taste of what they are aiming for next. Is having a better CPU something you consider important for the next Xbox?
