He recently became cloud strategy director at Epic Games. He also created the original Crackdown and was behind its third instalment/reboot (until it recently changed hands). However, David Jones is probably best remembered for being the young developer who created Lemmings (two million copies were sold in two years) when he was just 25, and who then shortly thereafter came up with a street brawler which ended up being set in a living city and went on to be called Grand Theft Auto.
Attendees at Gamelab 2018 (Barcelona, June 27-29) will be able to meet him in person and find out more about his experience in the industry. And if it looked like the Conference had run out of awards after announcing the ones going to both Todd Howard (Legend Award) and Amy Hennig (Honor Award), this year's event has just introduced the brand-new Lifetime Achievement Award, which is the one Jones is set to receive.
If you want to meet any of the amazing speakers at this year's event, Gamereactor is an official media partner and we're currently giving away five conference passes to Gamelab 2018 (more on that here).
