Shortly after it became obvious that Xbox One couldn't keep up the pace sales-wise with PlayStation 4, Microsoft stopped revealing how much the console was selling. For some time the number 35 million has been bandied around without ever being confirmed, but now the market research company IHS has delivered a new estimate, this according to the Wall Street Journal.
IHS claims Microsoft has sold 39.1 million Xbox One consoles as of March 31. As a comparison, Sony (which does reveal its numbers) was at 79.0 million at the same point in time. That basically means that there are still two PlayStation 4s being sold for each Xbox One (if the numbers are accurate, of course).
