Recently we started seeing reports that Crackdown 3 would be delayed until 2019, first after Amazon Spain suddenly cancelled all Crackdown 3 pre-orders and removed the game from further pre-ordering. One day later Microsoft announced that it was all a mistake on Amazon's behalf and ensured us that everything was in order. Then, yesterday, another report surfaced.

Which brings us to today and Microsoft's confirmation that the game has been delayed until 2019 after all. This was announced in a statement to Windows Central, saying:

"Our fans' response to the signature antics and explosive gameplay of "Crackdown 3" has been incredible. To ensure we deliver the experience they deserve, "Crackdown 3" will be launching in Feb 2019. We look forward to sharing more on "Crackdown 3" this Sunday during the Xbox E3 2018 briefing."

Basically, we can look forward to seeing Crackdown 3 at E3, but it won't be released for another eight months. Nothing has been shown of the game since Gamescom last year, and there is likely one or two significant changes being made to the game considering the extended time-frame of the delay. There have been rumours suggesting that Crackdown 3 would be getting a battle royale mode, but that is pure speculation for now.
