From reading an entry at the official Postal site one can learn that Running With Scissors have provided the Nobel Museum in Stockholm with materials from Postal 2 for an exhibition on Freedom of Speech set to open February 12.
Postal 2 was the source of much controversy in Swedish as it was heavily featured in a slanted negative report on the effects of gaming aired on one of the major television stations. In the aftermath a person working at the Swedish distributor of the game was unlawful representation of violence (part of the Swedish act for freedom of speech). He was later found not guilty. And it is because of this episode that the Museum wishes to make Postal 2 one of the examples when dealing with freedom of speech in games.
Reading up on the exhibition there is no mention of Postal 2, but there is mention of "interactive games" illustrating where the freedom of speech has been compromised.
Who would have thought that "The Dude" who stand next to such illustrious names as Aung San Suu Kyi, Salman Rushdie, Anna Politkovskaja and Carl von Ossietzky as the Nobel Museum tackles freedom of speech?
