Arena of Valor is a mobile game by Tencent similar in style to the likes of League of Legends. However, while it's a MOBA at heart the game is also getting a new Battle Royale-inspired mode.

The rules will be as you'd expect albeit there's going to be one key exception. 100 players will be dropped into the map which will reduce as time goes by (with people forced into the middle by a damage dealing sandstorm), although in this version of the popular mode the last player standing won't necessarily end up as the winner. This is because there's a boss on the map who has to be found and destroyed. However, the boss won't appear until near the end of a game when only a few players are left alive. Whoever kills the boss wins the game, and therein lies the unique hook.

There's currently no confirmed release date for the upcoming Battle Royale mode.
