There's a TNG expansion coming at long last to Star Trek: Bridge Crew, with The Next Generation ship heading to the VR title (that's also playable out of VR, it should be noted) on May 22. The expansion will cost £12 when it lands on PS4/PSVR, and we assume the pricing will be the same when it lands on PC (with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality support) on July 21.

Players will be able to take control of the Enterprise NCC-1701-D, battling against the cloaked Romulans and the mechanical Borg via the Ongoing Voyages mode, which itself is expanding with two additional missions types: Patrol and Resistance. There's also going to be a new command role, Operations, with one player tasked with assigning NPC teams to various stations around the ship. Here's a description of the two new modes:

"The Next Generation Expansion enhances the Ongoing Missions mode and offers two additional mission types, Patrol and Resistance. Patrol Mode gives players the opportunity to free roam in space, while experiencing random encounters and objectives, for endless hours of adventure on-board the U.S.S. Aegis, U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 or the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. In Resistance Mode, players will get the chance to face a fan-favourite villain - the unstoppable Borg. Players will evade a pursuing Borg Cube and will be tasked with completing a series of objectives before battling the Borg in a final showdown."
