One interesting tidbit that emerged from EA's recent investors call is the company's estimates and predictions with regards to platform sales.
EA's chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen estimated that as of December 31, 2017, PS4 and Xbox One had sold a combined 103 million consoles. With Sony already confirming its own estimates of 73.6 million, that would put Xbox One at just under 30 million consoles sold by the same date (which seems a bit low to us).
These figures also came with a prediction or two, with Jorgensen revealing EA's expectations that both the PS4 and Xbox One will have sold a combined 130 million units by the end of this calendar year. Similarly, EA has predicted that Nintendo will have shifted 30 million Switch units by the end of 2018.
While there's no doubt that EA is very carefully monitoring console sales, these are just estimates at the end of the day, so don't take them as gospel.
