SuperData has just published a monthly report on the latest trends in the digital video game market for March, 2018. As detailed in the report, Fortnite has generated revenue of $223 million dollars only in one month, with the numbers relating to the PC, PS4, Xbox One and iPhone versions of the game. Not too shabby.

We also discovered that Fortnite: Battle Royale is the most successful free-to-play game ever on console, with its revenue in March up 73% compared to that of February. The reason behind this sensational growth, according to SuperData, is the large amount of content featured in Season 3, in addition to the promotion of the game by rapper Drake, who has been playing on Twitch.

Fortnite has also generated more revenue when compared to its rival, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and on the PC it's also the free-to-play game with the highest rate of users who, after downloading it for free, have started spending money on the game.

In other news, there's been success for Far Cry 5. Ubisoft's recent release has shifted 2.5 million digital copies, with a growth of 500% compared to Far Cry Primal. Finally, Sea of Thieves recorded more than 1.7 million active users in March on Xbox One and 280,000 on PC, confirming a well-earned successful launch for Rare and, by extension, Microsoft.
