Overall sales were down 5 percent compared to January 2010 when this month's NPD numbers for the US market came in. Call of Duty: Black Ops came out on top for the month selling an estimated 750,000 units in January. New releases Dead Space 2 (441,000) and Little Big Planet 2 (319,000) and DC Universe Online (195,000) did reasonably well.

It would also seem that Kinect continues to do well as it has been reported that two thirds of all Xbox 360 units sold were bundled with the peripheral. This compared to Playstation Move that was bundled with less than one fifth of all Playstation 3 units.
