The Guinness Book of World Records have released a list of the 50 most popular video game characters based on the voting of 13,000 readers. No one will be surprised to see Mario claiming number one in front of Legend of Zelda hero Link with Halo's Master Chief taking third.
The press release made a mention that Sonic managed to claim a top ten spot despite the "questionable quality" of recent titles. Of course the same can be said of eleventh placed Crash. Judging by the list some people also care about the characters in Call of Duty titles, which is a bit of a surprise. And how did Shadow make it on there?
