Maybe you still remember announcement of Atari's new console - the Ataribox - from last year. We saw some flashy photos afterward, showing an elegant wooden fairing to cover the yet unknown hardware. That's pretty much all we know about that hardware up to now, so it kind of faded to the back of our minds. At GDC Atari just announced rebranding the console and shared plans to unveil the pre-order date at some point in April. On the expo floor at the conference, the company will show their so-called Atari VCS, pairing it with a modern controller and a retro-style joystick. We have yet to discover what games could possibly run on the system, so stay tuned to Gamereactor.
