It's been clear from the launch back in January, that Monster Hunter: World is a massive success for developer and publisher Capcom. We already know that several million copies have been sold, but that was only the warm-up, as the game has hit a really significant milestone.
According to an official press release, the game has now shipped 7.5 million units on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That's truly impressive and it also makes it Capcom's best-selling game of all time.
Several factors are mentioned that had a hand in this, including the fact that this is the first global simultaneous launch in the history of the series. The Monster Hunter series has now sold a total of 48 million units in the 14 years since the first Monster Hunter launched on PS2.
