It would seem, three weeks after the launch, that Kingdom Come: Deliverance has become a major success for developer Warhorse Studios, with sales already exceeding one million copies sold. But whether this amounts to profit for the developer remains to be seen, because one report now suggests that development costs were quite high for the title.
In the most recent edition of the Czech Republic edition of Forbes Magazine, there's a detailed profile of the game's director, Daniel Vávra, and here it's revealed that the game's budget was 750 million crowns, or roughly $36.5 million.
This has yet to be officially confirmed, but it would appear to also include marketing costs. Kingdom Come: Deliverance was originally pitched on Kickstarter where it achieved £1.1 million in funding.
With continued strong sales it's hard to imagine Kingdom Come: Deliverance won't be profitable down the line.
