The announcement of Shenmue III at Sony's E3 press conference in 2015 is still something that's fresh in our minds. Yu Suzuki came on stage and announces that the project will be done if the fans want it; In the process, a Kickstarter project was launched, beating all video game crowdfunding records in a short amount time (crowdfunding records on Kickstarter that is). Three years later, the title is closing in on release and there are equal parts excitement and anxiety among the fans who have been waiting more than 15 years for Ryo's adventure to continue.
Yu Suzuki, on his part seems pleased with his game, so much so that he already plans to make a sequel: "Yes, the end will be open for a sequel." Suzuki explained in an interview with our colleagues at Gamersflag. The journalist also asked the creator for a reaction regarding the somehow mixed reception of the latest trailer unveiled at the exclusive MAGIC 2018 Monaco a few days ago. Fans were disappointed especially by the stiff animations:
"What you saw today is different from where we are [...] Indeed, there were negative returns last year but in 90 seconds, we can not show a game, images do not do not show everything."
Yu Suzuki seems really confident with Shenmue III, what do you think of what has been shown thus far?
