1440p (2560×1440) might be one step beyond full HD, but there's also still a way to go until you hit native 4K resolution. Enjoying 4K graphics on a top quality screen is obviously the selling point for many Xbox One X-owners, but for those who have the console and a 1080p screen, there were tangible benefits to making the hardware upgrade, even if you hadn't got around to getting a full 4K screen just yet. Those on a 1440P screen, however, weren't getting the same benefits. That's about to change though.
According to Xbox program manager Kevil Gammill, both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S will be getting the option to display in 1440p resolution, whether that be the dash (both) or even in-game (Xbox One X only, most likely). Over on Twitter, Gammill promised that Xbox Live Preview members will be able to check out the feature "very soon".
