Take this with a pinch of salt for now, but a report has surfaced that states that Disney, unhappy with the way that EA has handled their licensing deal for Star Wars, is making eyes at different publishers.

According to a report on Cinelinx, Disney isn't happy with EA after the negative fallout that spoiled the launch of Star Wars Battlefront II, and sources allegedly close to Disney have suggested that the company has since reached out to Activision and Ubisoft about the possibility of them getting involved with the franchise in some capacity.

Like you, our first thought was the licensing agreement struck between EA and Disney, and the unlikelihood of either party breaking that, but the report suggests that there may be a clause in the contract that can be broken if certain standards aren't met. With Visceral's Star Wars game being reworked following the studio's demise, and with Battlefront II launching straight into controversy, if such a clause were to exist then who knows what it might contain.

Still, the number of lawyers that would have to be involved for a seismic shift of direction like this has us reaching another pinch of salt, and we're filing this one away under unlikely. For now at least.
