If the Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trilogy remaster that landed last year scratched a nostalgic itch for you, you'll be pleased to hear the latest rumours coming out of Activision. According to sources close to Kotaku, the publisher is preparing to announce another fan-favourite comeback with a Spyro trilogy remaster apparently in the works.
According to sources close to the project the collection is being worked on by Vicarious Visions mad will include Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage!, and Year of the Dragon. Interestingly it sounds like content cut from the originals will make an appearance. As was the case with Crash, the studio is said to be building "new assets, lighting, animations and cinematics".
The report also claims that the game will land first on PS4 (with Pro support) as part of a year-long exclusivity deal, with the trilogy heading to other platforms thereafter (apparently that's what is happening with the Crash trilogy too). Furthermore, it's the 20th anniversary of Spyro the Dragon in September, which is when one source says the trilogy will release. Stay tuned, as the site reckons we'll get an announcement in March.
