Shortly after Xbox One was released, Microsoft started sharing sales number when it was obvious PlayStation 4 was doing better. First, they combined the sales with Xbox 360 and later refused to share them at all. That leaves the total sales numbers up to guesstimates rather than actual facts, at that is what the fairly known insider and Niko Partners analyst Daniel 'ZhugeEx' Ahmad now has delivered.
He writes that close to 35 million units has been sold, which is little less than half of what Playstation 4 has sold (76.5 million units shipped according to latest numbers). Ahmad also reveals that Xbox One X is selling faster than Playstation 4 Pro in the US with the respective launches aligned for comparison.
While this isn't as good as a confirmation that 35 million units have been sold, it's probably the best number we're going to get for a while.
