A rival to Mario in the late '90s, Crash Bandicoot was a PlayStation icon who was for Sony what the red plumber was for Nintendo. According to DHX Brands, however, Crash's exclusive relationship with PlayStation could be about to change, and the old mascot from Sony could very well land on Switch and PC soon. The well-received port of the trilogy, which originally launched on PSOne, is certainly a good fit for the Switch's audience at any rate.

But that isn't all when it comes to the ever-popular marsupial, as according to the same source (a licensing book) Activision could be planning on releasing a new entry in the series at some point in 2019. Thus an eighth instalment could find its way to PlayStation 4 as soon as next year, that is if the report proves accurate. And who knows, if there is a new game in the works, what's to say Crash won't make an appearance elsewhere at some point.

Exciting times for Crash fans, both new and old. What's your take on this?
