EA has outlined some of their releases moving forward, and it was confirmed that Bioware's big new action-RPG Anthem has been pushed back to an early 2019 release. This was rumoured a week or so ago, and has now been confirmed.
The report from Kotaku last week, said the game was never really in line to be finished by the original date (fall 2018), but EA were quick to defend and refute some of the claims made in that article. As CFO Blake Jorgensen told Sara E. Needleman (WSJ) that it's not to be seen as a delay caused by troubled development, but rather a strategic move to a less crowded release period. The truth, as usual, probably lies somewhere in between.
The move leaves the fourth quarter of the year alone to the next Battlefield title. There has been rumours of a new Bad Company title, and that it's set during the Vietnam war, but for now no official details on the next Battlefield game exists.
