A few days ago Epic updated Fortnite, and among other things, the studio added a new feature called "autorun". Despite this function being designed to make the gaming experience easier for all players, it turns out that this new add-on wasn't welcomed universally, and for a very specific reason.

RAOBJSheff is a one-handed Fortnite player, and he wrote a message on Reddit, explaining that because of his disability he usually plays Epic's game using a combination of his right hand, his face, and a stand for the controller.

Since Epic introduced this new feature, it has created new difficulties for him to overcome. He explains it thus: "I lack the subtle movements a thumb can provide on the left stick so have to press it hard against my cheek bone to play. The new autorun feature means I constantly run and now fall out of buildings, off walls and die way more than normal."

This is clearly an issue, and so he asked Epic to offer up an option to turn this feature off in order for him to continue enjoying the game, even in the company of his group of friends, all of whom have similar disabilities.

Epic replied quickly and promised that they will soon introduce a new option to disable the feature. All's well that ends well, and we're really happy that Epic has promptly responded to this particular request so RAOBJSheff can get back in the game.
