There were people who didn't think that the runaway success of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds would translate over to Xbox from PC, and others who claimed that the game just wasn't suited to being played on a controller. We think it's fair to say that both of those opinions have now been proven wrong.

There are now no less than four million PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players on Xbox One who agree with us, this according to Microsoft, which has now has proudly confirmed that it the game has reached the landmark figure on Xbox One, and all since the game's launch in the middle of December. The number of players isn't necessarily the same as the number of copies sold, since some people share an Xbox One, but it is usually somewhere in the same ballpark. Microsoft also writes that: "PUBG has been the top gifted title in the Microsoft Store since the feature launched in December".

Four million players in little more than a month is of course hugely impressive and to celebrate this milestone, free gifts will be handed out. This is what is says on Xbox Wire:

To show the community our appreciation for your support and feedback, we are rewarding players with 30,000 Battle Points to purchase cosmetic crates in the game. Anyone who has purchased or purchases PUBG on Xbox One and has created a character before January 31 at 12AM PST will receive this bonus, so if you've been waiting to jump onto the island, now is the perfect time to become a part of our growing community on console. Bonus Battle Points will be delivered and appear directly in players BP accounts (right below their gamertag) after February 1, 2018 at 12AM PT.
