Microsoft launched their "Netflix for games" service Xbox Game Pass last summer, and there's currently over 100 games available to download and play for subscribers. Moving forward though, the selection will be bolstered by all first-party Microsoft titles on their launch day, meaning you'll get access to Sea of Thieves on March 20 and Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2 as they launch this spring. In the future, all new Gears of War, Halo and Forza titles will get the same treatment.

A bold move that really shows that Microsoft is serious about transitioning over to a subscription model for content. It's also the sort of move the company needs as the competition has been doing great, but one has to wonder how retail looks at this as it will no doubt hurt Xbox software sales longterm. It should be noted that Microsoft did point out that they are working with retailers to sell six month-passes ($59.99] and sales of these will no doubt be driven by big first-party releases and so make up for part of the loss of sales.

Does this make you more interested in Xbox Game Pass? Do you want Sony to follow Microsoft's example with a similar initiative?
