Kid Icarus was released for NES 30 years ago, and while Nintendo has returned to this classic franchise in the past, most notably with Kid Icarus: Uprising on 3DS in 2012, Pit has been stuck in the fridge for a bit. A team of students recently made this 3D remake of the NES title, or rather a vertical slice with about 15 minutes of gameplay and it got us dreaming about a full-on sequel on Switch.

You can check it out over on Itch.io if you want to give it a try, you never know when the Nintendo lawyers move to have it taken down.

It was created with a 12 people strong team in seven weeks, and you also can find a YouTube video of it, if you rather watch than play yourself. The system requirements to play the Kid Icarus demo is:

Windows 7 64bit and up
Radeon HD 6950/GTX Geforce 560 or better
4+ GB RAM
Quad Core 3+ GHz
At least 2 GB of free space
