In a document, published by Liudieus on Reddit, Cloud Imperium Games has responded to some of the claims made by Crytek in the recent legal action launched by the German developer against the studio behind Star Citizen and Squadron 42.
The counterclaim reveals CIG's position that this is a case that should never have existed in the first and say it "sacrifices legal sufficiency for loud publicity". The document in support of CIG's motion to dismiss basically uses the GLA (Game Licensing Agreement) Crytek by pointing out some clear-cut examples. For example, Crytek claims the agreement stipulates CIG to exclusively use Cryengine, but this term is meant they're granted the use of the engine not restricted to only use it.
There are still some areas that CIG haven't touched, but it's going to be interesting to see whether the court rules in CIG's favour or if there's merit to Crytek's claims.
