Kinect has endured many deaths, but you have to ask yourself if this one isn't as final as things get. As you may recall, the Redmond-based company did offer free adapters for early adopters of Xbox One S but now Microsoft has stopped the production of the adapter that allowed Kinect to be plugged into Xbox One S and Xbox One X.
Up until fairly recently, this adapter was offered completely free to those who purchased Xbox One S, but later the company started selling it for the price of $49.99. Microsoft has now officially discontinued the production of this accessory, which means that the stores won't receive any new stocks.
This should come as no surprise as the adapter support was merely a means for Microsoft to offer support for the few faithful Kinect users who chose to upgrade to Xbox One S. You can read our in-depth article on the life and times of Kinect.
Thanks, Polygon.
