Out of nowhere, Cuphead landed on the App Store today, and with a meagre €5.49 price tag. This caught everyone by surprise since Studio MDHR never announced it, and the game is supposedly a Microsoft exclusive for Xbox One and Windows 10. After digging a little deeper it turns out that the reason why it's a surprise is that it's actually a fake.

On their official Twitter, the studio has confirmed that this is an "imposter app", a "scam", with the studio assuring us that it's "working on removing the fraudulent app ASAP!".

We haven't downloaded the game, and we advise you not to do so either as there's no telling what it might have hidden under the hood, but it seems as though it might actually be a playable version of Cuphead, at least that's according to some users. Still, we reckon it's better to be safe than sorry, even if Cuphead is infuriatingly brilliant.
