Over two years ago, Mad Max: Fury Road hit movie theaters. It was a big success winning six Oscar statues on top of dominating the box office. Now director George Miller (via his production company) is suing Warner Bros. over an unpaid bonus.

According to the claim Kennedy Miller Mitchell would get a $7 million (USD) bonus if "the final net cost" of the movie was no more than $157 million (USD). According to the claim Warner Bros. made a series of decisions that caused delays and changes, which in turn forced Miller to go over budget. "If those costs are left out of account", according to Kennedy Miller Mitchell, "Mad Max came in under budget."

This is why Miller's company now wants to get that unpaid bonus. Warner Bros. response at this time was short and sweet: "We disagree and will vigorously defend against these claims."

We can imagine the court proceedings will involve silver spray and chants of "witness me", but we could also see this being settled out of court...

Thanks, The Sunday Morning Herald.
