VR Focus reports that online listings of PSVR on Amazon lists the original PSVR model (CUH-ZVR1) puts it as being discontinued. Having already launched the newer model (CUH-ZVR2) in Japan, it seems Sony are ready to do the same in Europe and North America. The new model features improved integration of headphone cables into the headset, as well as a much requested quality of life improvement for players with HDR-capable televisions. The original model forced you to unplug the PSVR processing unit in order to allow for HDR on the television but with the new model this is no longer the case.

Exactly when the new model hits stores is unknown, but the box will feature the new model number so you can tell the difference. In the meantime, some retailers like Amazon are offering discounts on the discontinued original model.
