If you regularly play Blizzard games on Blizzard Battle.net's desktop app, you may have noticed a few changes, as the company has revealed that it's received a bit of a makeover.

These changes have been in beta for a while, but have now rolled out to all players, introducing among other things a Social tab, which hosts all social interactions and chats. You can now send messages to offline friends, see a history of your chat, and even links with the mobile app too.

Blizzard Groups have also been introduced, linking those who share common interests. Each one of these can have multiple text and voice channels, as well as administrators, who have a lot of tools to help them manage these groups.

Player Gifting is another new feature which allows players to purchase and send in-game gifts to friends via the Shop, which has a simple Gift button. Profiles and avatars have been changed as well, with the former featuring an About message, links to social media, and more, including the option to make it public. You can also choose from 100 different avatars to represent your profile.

And lastly there's the option to appear offline, which doesn't affect matchmaking at all.

As with many features, Blizzard encourages fans to submit feedback via the forums. Do you like the changes made though? Let us know in the comments.
