Brendan Greene, also known as PlayerUnknown and the mind behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, is having a pretty great time as of late. This month his game passed two million concurrent players, also surpassing League of Legends in terms of popularity in Korean PC bangs too, but the game still has yet to be released on Xbox One, which it will be soon.
In an interview with IGN Greene talked about a number of things to do with the Xbox One version, including his desire for a physical release too. "I mean, this is what I want," he said. "With Xbox [One] you get the box in stores. It's gonna be cool walking into a retailer and seeing my game [in] the store. It's not something I would imagine happening four years ago."
Considering how popular the game has become on Steam Early Access, it's not unreasonable to speculate that the future could bring a physical release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
