Bluehole Studio posted a community update today in which the studio shares its plans in preparation for the PC 1.0 and Xbox Game Preview launch. The team is using an internal build to develop and test new features like the vaulting and climbing, new vehicles, 3D replay, and the new desert map.
We also got some new details about this new map. PC Gamer writes that there's is "much more variation" when compared to the original map, with "hills, rises, and ditches in the landscape", and that the map hosts "three ancient meteor impact craters with small towns inside them, the abandoned shops and homes built right on the sunken crater floor."
Art director Taeseok Jang also told PC Gamer that the "vehicle handling will act and feel much differently depending on whether players are on smooth, paved surfaces or offroading on rough terrain".
Bluehole still needs players to test out the new features and players will be able to try out vaulting and climbing in late October or early November. Other test schedules will be announced in an upcoming update.
Below you can check out three new screenshots from the desert map. How does the new map look to you?
