World records in classic arcade games is going through something of a renaissance ever since Steve Wiebe went at it in King of Kong. The Examiner now reports that Andrew Laidlaw has recaptured the Galaga tournament world record (five lives on the hardest setting). His world record stands at 4,525,150 points, a whopping 1,249,430 points higher than the previous record set by Phil Day. Phil Day captured the record from Laidlaw back in 2009.
