Michael Lesslie, a relatively unknown short-film writer (his credits include Heavy Metal Drummer and Skirt) and playwright (Prince of Denmark), is set to pen the Assassin's Creed movie.
We first heard about the film in late 2011, and last year Michael Fassbender was confirmed in the lead role, giving the project considerably more weight.
The film is a collaboration between New Regency and Ubisoft Motion Pictures (a studio established specifically for this kind of venture), and is likely to be the first of many such cross-over releases, as a deal is already in place to make a movie adaptation of the Splinter Cell franchise.
